​DSD Competition Dance Lines are open to students ages 5 through 19 who are interested in additional performance opportunities and an emphasis on competition work. These students take technique classes and attend rehearsals. The groups are organized by age and level. Some groups require a one day only commitment while other groups require 2-3 days. An audition is required to become a part of one of these groups. We do have a group for every dancer. DSD is also proud to have many male dancers of all ages in our competition dance lines. 

The DSD Dance Lines are known across the Unites States not only for their level of talent, but for the professional level of dedication they have achieved. They are seasoned performers and have been the National Dance Champions 21 times in 37 years. They have also had the honor of performing with The Jonas Brothers, Raven Simone, The Cheetah Girls, Corbin Bleu, Bernadette Peters, Chubby Checkers, The Tops, Mitch Ryder, Rich Little, and many more. They have appeared on national television on the CBS Showstopper American Dance Championships, America’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and A Children’s Miracle Network Telethon. They have also performed centerfield at Detroit Tiger baseball games at Comerica Park and Detroit Piston basketball games. 

If your child loves to dance and perform, this is the group for your daughter or son! You can pick the level of involvement from one day to a few or many. Our dancers have received over 2.5 million dollars in college scholarships and have gone on to careers in every field. 

Each group is taught in a positive, healthy manner and students learn life skills such as teamwork, goal setting, time management, self-confidence, leadership skills and many more which benefit them for a lifetime.
